Judicial System

The Bentley University judicial system is designed to serve and educate the Bentley community. Maintenance of the community as a safe, pleasant, and stimulating environment conducive to academic and personal development is essential if the university is to meet its obligations to each student.

The judicial system's goals are founded in the educational mission of the university. It is designed to:

  • Hold students accountable and responsible for their actions
  • Educate students
  • Maintain the welfare of the campus community
  • Foster a sense of community and mutual respect for each other on campus
  • Help students develop alternatives to inappropriate behavior

Process

The administrative hearing process provides an opportunity for administrators to work with students to promote more positive behaviors. It is also a time to understand what else in happening in the student's life at that time.

The judicial boards allow students who have been charged with violating a policy to be reviewed, and if necessary, sanctioned by their own peers through a fair hearing process.
