Community: Getting Involved

Residence Hall Association (RHA)

The Residence Hall Association is an active student government for the entire Bentley University residence hall system. Through legislation, committees and policy development, RHA represents the student voice in the residence hall. RHA works with the Office of Residence Life to continually improve the student community at Bentley University through social, educational and recreational programs. RHA also meets weekly to discuss issues and concerns affecting students living in the residence halls. Residents can voice their opinions on any issue by attending a General Board meeting or by contacting any active member of RHA.

Hall Councils

Hall Councils are a great way to get involved. Each residence hall has a hall council that runs programs locally in its specific hall. These councils are open to residents in that hall and are headed by an elected President and Vice President. Each of these councils sponsors small-scale programs in each individual hall on campus.
If you are a highly motivated, creative, social individual looking for a challenge, please email RHA@bentley.edu or look for the RHA booth at the activity fair.

Eco-Representatives

The Bentley Eco-Reps are select undergraduate students who work to educate their hall mates about environmental issues. Eco-Reps distribute information, and create, coordinate and host activities in their residence halls, operating on the philosophy that we can reduce our harmful impact on the environment by making simple changes in our lifestyles. To get a sense of what it's like to come to an eco-reps meeting at 9 o'clock on Wednesdays or contact Amanda Navarroli.

Give N’ Go

Give 'N Go is the Sustainable Move-Out Program that reduces trash generation, encourages community via student exchange, and promotes donation because it provides a smart, convenient solution to redistribute reusable items that students no longer need or want.
Give 'N Go began with a few Resident Assistants who saw mountains of goods piled into Bentley's trash dumpsters every spring.
Donations from the spring 2012 Give 'N Go event will be donated to Good Will and Middlesex Human Services (Bristol Lodge Shelters). For more information, visit our page.

Resident Assistants (RA)

Each living area in the residence halls houses a resident assistant (RA). These individuals are available to assist the residents. RAs provide programming, information and enforce University rules and regulations in the halls. Bentley University has 98 resident assistants hired by the Department of Residence Life. The average RA is responsible for a living area housing 25-40 residents. RAs participate in job training and orientation throughout the year and each RA receives a room and meal plan compensation, as well as a monthly stipend. For more information, please refer to the Resident Assistant tab located on the left hand menu.
