Counseling Services

Most students will experience a significant amount of stress during the college years. Adapting to a new environment and new people, building a career path, establishing an identity while being away from the familiarity and comfort of home-all this can make life very difficult. For these and many other reasons, counseling and therapy is offered to every Bentley student on a time limited basis each year. A staff of psychologists and counselors with more than 80 years of combined experience is available to work with students on most concerns they might have.

Located on the second floor the Michael A. Callahan Building, this is a free service for all students. Appointments can be made by phone or by a visit. Additionally, there are emergency appointments each day for urgent issues. Although sessions are limited, staff will work to provide referrals for longer term work with providers in the area. Most importantly, all conversations are treated as confidential as defined by the ethical guidelines of the American Psychological Association. For those not familiar with a counseling service, you are certainly welcome to come in to discuss what is offered and how it might be of use to you.

A fully professional service, ongoing training and development for staff is provided on ethics, professional issues, and treatment innovation. All professiontal staff are licensed practitioners in Massachusetts. Further, the center has been accredited by the International Association of Counseling Services since 1994.
