*Yoga for Life is a new feature class that combines discussion about yoga principles, how they apply to leadership and personal development with breathing and poses. Our instructor, Julia writes "Yoga for Life will introduce students to the practice of yoga as a way of life, more than just a form of fitness. Yoga is both a world view and system of mind-body practices, which includes yoga poses, breathing exercises and meditation. Yoga for Life will teach the philosophy and practices in a way that translate into real, practical life lessons that can be applied both on the yoga mat and in life, such as reducing stress, increased self-awareness, and even empowerment and personal transformation."
The Wellness Studio is open weekdays from 8:00 a.m. to 10:00 p.m. Access is granted via student ID door swipe.
The space contains mirrors, a spin bike area, yoga mats, blocks and blankets, pilates mats and rings, and a TV/DVD system for students to use their own fitness DVDs.
Student organizations can also reserve the Wellness Studio for practice. Please contact Jessica Greher Traue, assistant director for Wellness, jtraue@bentley.edu or call 781.891.2947 for more information.

Julia Novina began practicing yoga as a complement to her dance and legal careers, and was transformed when she discovered Anusara Yoga. After completing her teacher training in 2005, she began teaching Yoga full-time. Her teaching is playful, thoughtful and supportive, as she encourages students to connect with their bodies and spirits, to bring both into optimal alignment with joy.
