The Center for Health and Wellness is staffed by board certified nurse practitioners and physicians. Additionally, the center employs a nutritionist and an alcohol and other drugs educator; both provide individual consultations and educational programs for student groups.
The Center for Health and Wellness maintains a policy of strict confidentiality for all services and medical records. Information is only released with written consent of the student or as required by law. All full-time students, regardless of insurance, can take advantage of the services listed below.
There is no charge for our professional services as the cost is covered by your tuition; however, there may be charges for lab tests, medications, x-rays, and off-campus referrals that may be covered by your health insurance. It is essential that you know how your particular health insurance works and what restrictions apply before it is necessary to use it. Massachusetts requires all college students to have health insurance. If you have any questions about this, please call the student health insurance coordinator at 781.891.2600.
Notes are not given by this office as excuses for class absence. Our policy prevents us from providing absence notes. In all cases of class or work absence, you must communicate directly with your professor or employer to reach a mutually-agreeable solution. This communication should take place as soon as possible and preferably prior to a class absence.
