ALANA stands for Asian/Asian American, Latino, African-American, Native American and multiracial. This term comprises the diverse group of students for whom we are primarily responsible.
Is the MCC for ALANA students only?
Although we are primarily responsible for ALANA students, the office is open to all! Please feel free to stop in with any questions or especially just to say “Hello!” We like that.
How do I find out more about the STEP Program?
Information on the Summer Transition Education Program is located here. For specific questions, please contact Claudette Blot.
The MCC Lounge is the ideal place to study and relax. Located right near our office, the Lounge offers comfortable couches, a conference table, and a flat-screen television. The Lounge is open until the Student Center closes late at night. Please contact us if you wish to reserve the space for a meeting or event.
Do you have to make an appointment to see someone in the MCC?
In most cases, you are encouraged to just come on in. However, if the nature of your visit will require a good deal of time (more than five minutes) or if you want to speak with someone in particular, you should make an appointment. You can do so by calling the office or stopping by the front desk.
Should I come to the MCC with specific International questions?
Our office deals mostly with domestic U.S. students, but the Center for International Students and Scholars is located right across from us, and they can assist with any International questions you may have.
